I almost cried when my husband said there was a frost alert last night. I gambled early this week and put out ALL of the tomato plants I grew from seed this winter. Looks like they’re okay, too!
When you say indie/arty were you doing fictional stories or documentary?
Once I was the voice for a bitchy doll who could speak in a film short for MTV. I stayed under the table and read my lines. It was so much fun.
All kinds–I love storytelling in any genre almost. We did *not* get a frost alert but 50 degrees this morning was chilly enough for me!!! I refuse to put the heater back on, tho. Just add another cat to the bottom of the bed, that should do the trick, I always say! 🙂
LOVE IT!!!! I can relate I had two cards hacked in one day:-) Had to do all the robot talking and “press number if” …yadda, yadda…great pod:-) I love you r voice too!!! I feel you have a direction and this is something, I look forward to hearing more often-Love your voice reading your stories:-) I am listening to Farm City by Novella Carpenter) on my Kindle when I pot up plants. It is read by Karen White-your voice reminds me of her in your short video! You are so multi talented:-)

I also really appreciate your kind words. 😀 And now my secret is out– I’m an old-school “hyphenate” as we used to call it in the 90’s. We indy film folks had to learn *everything*. When you’re working with a micro budget, you gotta get creative. So I dabbled a lot not just writing but in all the “above the line” functions– directing/editing/sound design. As we’ve said before, any art feeds all art. Thank you so much, blog buddy for giving me 3 minutes of your very busy day!!!

Terry, you r 2 funny yourself!!! Now I am wondering what radio shows you may have done (mysteries, perhaps?!) I will let u (&, I guess) the whole blogosphere in on a secret– this is not one take (I’m certainly not that good!) I usually do a couple readings of large chunks and then pick the best. I don’t overdo it because that makes it stale but I definitely make mistakes so editing is required. It takes much longer to edit/add sound fx than to actually perform the reading. Ergo, I won’t be able to post daily so no worries that you’ll be getting overrun with duck-related updates. 😉 Thanks again so very much for taking the time to listen & so much, too, for the early follow. 😀

I had a similar problem when I tried to buy printer ink from the HP online store, they declined the transaction saying something was wrong with my debit card. Forget the notion, I used the said card to buy a couple thousand dollars worth of premium hay for the horses two hours earlier. And, that I had more than enough money in my said account to afford $29.00 worth of ink. HP must’ve overlooked I have a lot of their branded, high-end blade server and other computer equipment. Turned out to be their payment processor messed up big time.
I’ve been traveling, too, and just got back to my blog mail to read your kind words!!! I have a feeling we are not alone in experiencing some frustration with those financial algos intent on organizing our spending ways. 😉 Thanks so much for the encouragement–I am hoping to get back in front of the microphone later this week. I hope you will give this new blog a follow if you’re so inclined–I promise I will not inundate you with constant updates. 🙂
A follow-up on the continuing saga to buy ink from the HP online store. This time I decided to be smart and use my PayPal account to purchase ink. Again, they declined the order. I talked with PayPal – they agreed something goofy is going on with them for them to refuse all of my payment options. Either their account database has been corrupted, or there’s bug in the algo’s they’re using. My HP account rep that handles my business equipment says he’ll inquire for me.
Totally weird! The freaky part is that even *they* can’t figure out what’s wrong. PS, at least this is just ink and not, say, car insurance or healthcare, right?
Anyway, I filed a complaint with HP. I also said being a loyal HP customer, I may have to reconsider that. Healthcare, I don’t worry about that – advantage of being married to a doctor.
I filed a complaint with HP about my orders being declined. Their standard reply was about a possible discrepancy of my information with my credit cards, bank debit cards, and even with PayPal. I finally managed to talk with a live person at their customer service (probably in India based on accent) and told them my information with the cc, debit card and PayPal was okay, my accounts in good standing. The customer service rep, she said she corrected the problem at their end. then she asked, “Would you like to buy the ink you previously order?” I said no – I’m quite leery on whether the problem has been truly fixed.
